Here's how I've helped others....

"I'm Kristy, and I started training with Chris at a time where is was crucial for my health as I suffer from a chronic lung condition and my lung function had dropped significantly within a short period of time in 2014. I go to both of the 9.30 sessions which suit me perfectly for time reasons. I tried many gyms in the past and had always woken up thinking of an excuse not to go! I have never, and will never wake up thinking that with Chris' sessions. I enjoy meeting on the Esplanade, having fun while working out, seeing the girls and all going for a coffee after. It is absolutely the best thing I have done for my health. I never thought I would enjoy a fitness activity so much. It’s changed my life and I look forward to an even greater improved lung function while having fun - who would have thought!?!?"

"My name is Sandra and I've been training with Chris at Brighton since about September 2013. Since then I have reached several goals, plus achieved more than I thought I could have on my own. For the first time ever I increased my running speed to complete the City to Bay in under an hour in 2015, a goal I never would have thought I could achieve at my age. I am also closer to the “goal weight for my height” which has been alluding me for many years (and I’ve dropped a dress size and 2 sizes in jeans to go with it) I have always enjoyed exercising but it was getting combination of exercise and nutrition right that I think really helped me achieve the weight-loss.
But the things I really like most about training at Brighton are; 1. that it outdoors in the fresh air (even in the extremes, even when we go undercover) 2. the fun sessions with the other members and 3. the social aspect of the group and taking part in events like True Grit and long distance runs out of session times. Chris provides the best motivation and has helped me with my nutrition and working towards my next goal to complete the Adelaide Half Marathon in August 2016, something which I feel I wouldn’t have had the fitness to attempt in the past."
"My name is Graham and I have been training with Chris at Brighton for a few years now. Since starting with him I have continued to maintain my fitness level and have enjoyed the benefits of exercising outdoors rather than in a stuffy gym. I also hold special the many friendships that have been made with fellow class members. We (including my wife) enjoy many social gatherings with members of the group and they are always a fun event with plenty of laughs. It is always also good to see the rewards of training that others achieve whom could not even in some cases walk across the park without being puffed when they first join up.
Having recently experienced a serious health incident myself, I have had to pull back a bit on the number of sessions I could attend each week, but you can be assured once my body has sufficiently recovered and can cope with the extra sessions, I will be back into it full swing again. The support and encouragement from Chris and other group members during this period has kept my spirits high and motivated me to strive to return to my desired sessions. What I really like most about training at Brighton is our sessions down at the school or at Angus Neil Reserve near the sea, no matter what the weather throws up - which are even more enjoyable when it does warm up we get more daylight hours.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I'm not fit enough?: The short answer? - no one is "not fit enough". Just about everyone who comes along for their first session, no matter how fit they 'actually' are, tells me they think they're not fit enough - and I understand this. I've been delivering small group PT for over 7 years, and I'm experienced in ensuring that you will be suitably challenged, yet within your own level. As will everyone at the session. If you need to take a rest, walk it off, grab a drink, then I will encourage you to do that. Most people at the session will remember their first session and will understand where you're at becasue they've been there. Please don't wait to get fitter before you come - because I'm sure you don't wait for your dishes to get cleaner before you stack 'em in the dishwasher!!
What if it's raining?: Yes, my sessions are outdoors - no we're not all crazy 'military toughened' recruits. Thankfully I have access to undercover areas at both venues, and I've got'n pretty good at reading the rain radar. I've pretty much never cancelled a session due to weather, and depending on the session type, will move undercover when needed, but still make the most of using the great outdoors. After a wet and windy session, it's amazing how often people say "I was listening to the weather thinking about not coming, but I'm so glad I did now!!" I'd encourage you to at least come and try a session in weather you think wouldn't be appropriate, and if you find it really that bad, my memberships are flexible, and you can avoid the wet sessions and come to the dry ones.
Are you gonna 'make' me run?: I like to say I don't 'make' anyone do anything - even burpees. You've empowered yourself to come to my sessions, so I'll make sure that you get a workout - with or without running. As your PT, I'll make sure you are suitably challenged at your level, and if there is any exercise you can't do, or aren't ready to have a crack at, I'll give you an alternative and before you know it you'll be feeling ready to give anything a crack!!. I have plenty of members with reasons they can't run, and they still get a great workout at every session!!
How much does it cost?: If this is the last question you ask that's great - in fact AWESOME!! I appreciate that you value your health and fitness, and I'm committed to giving you as much value as I can for your dollar. If this is the first question you ask then I'll be a little bit cheeky and say I'm probably not the trainer for you, and I would ask you how much you value your own health and fitness? I do understand that wherever you ask it, it's a genuine question, so the quick answer I always give is "$40 per week for UNLIMITED sessions". I have a few different membership options that are all detailed on my PRICING page, so please feel free to have look. But remember, there is no charge for your first session, so you can see for yourself what I offer, then YOU decide if you think I'm the right trainer for you.

Can I Bring My Kids?: Great Question, and one I often get asked!! Like most PT's, I can smell excuses a mile away, so I'd like to take that one right off you ;-) I don't have the facilities to offer child minding since we're always outdoors, and you will know your kids best, so as long as you're comfortable bringing them and letting them play, I won't be turning you away... kids, dogs, husbands, as long as they're well behaved - the choice is yours!!!
Keen to try but don't know where to start?
This is a really common question, and essentially the best session mix for you will be a little dependent on YOUR specific goal - or your WHY! Once you get going, I'll work with you and determine the best session mix for you, but for now, the best thing is that you 'just start'. You've made it this far, the next step is to 'just book something'. The hardest part about gaining momentum is taking the first step...
