It's one week post-Easter... how did you do?
G'day there Chris Eves here, Personal Trainer. I've been meaning to put pen to paper on this all week but I've been waiting for the perfect moment, and maybe just procrastinating too much about it, now then here we are - it's Saturday and the perfect moment hasn't come yet so time to just get to it I say?!?!
So I wanted to talk to you about Easter, and now it's the first week back after Easter and how have you gone with your healthy lifestyle habits? Did you overindulge at Easter and have too much chocolate? Or if you're not a chocolate person did you have too many wines or beers and how has your waistline handled all that?
Although it's important to have balance and moderation and all that sort of thing, what got me thinking about this is earlier in the week I posted an image on my Facebook page with a caption saying “One Easter egg won't make you fat!”.....

I had Googled and found an image of the largest Easter egg in the world, bit of an interesting story behind that but anyway, yeah I wrote “One Easter egg won't make you fat! Just like one workout won't make you skinny!” With the message being about consistency and that it's ok to have a bad day or a bad week. But I didn't want to be sending the wrong message there because although that's exactly correct as far as it's important to maintain balance and moderation in your lifestyle, and you shouldn't deny yourself some of life's simple pleasures like chocolate which is great for releasing endorphin's. What I got thinking about was the story of the Frog….
Some of you might know it but I'll just quickly explain…. if you drop a frog into boiling water it will jump straight out, but if you put a frog in warm water and slowly heat it up, apparently you can boil it to death without any pain.
So what has Easter been for you then? As far as, have you been the frog dropped in boiling water, or are you allowing lifestyle changes and Easter and the leftover Easter eggs and the left over half a carton of beer or bottle of wine.... are you letting those things be the water slowly warming up for you?
How did you go? Did you feel like the frog in boiling water, where you are ready to jump straight out and get on with your healthy lifestyle habits or have you been a bit slow getting back into it and have you got Easter eggs still in the cupboard that you've been working your way through, through the week? Maybe just something to reflect on a bit?
What I don't want you to do - I don't want you to be like me and be waiting for the perfect moment and be procrastinating about it - I want you to use this opportunity to do something about it, and either share your experience with us, or give yourself the opportunity - or rather give me the opportunity to help you out. So if you're one of my clients and you are on our 12 week challenge and you were straight back to normal with your healthy eating plan and got to all your sessions through the week, just type “YES” in capital letters in the comments box below. I want that to be an encouragement to other people to see that it is possible and that people do live a healthy lifestyle like that. So if that's you type “YES” in the comments below.
If you're one of my clients and you've missed a few sessions and you want me to give you a call and we can have a chat about things and work out how I can maybe help you better or provide some encouragement, then in capital letters in the comments box just type “HELP”... and put an exclamation mark as well... why not??
If you're not one of my clients and you're reading this blog then welcome - G’day - and if you're interested in maybe trying some free sessions with me or finding out what other ways I can help you with your health and fitness, then just type “NEW” in the comments box and I'll contact you - I'll private message you on Facebook if your privacy settings allow that. Then we can have a chat and see if there's some way I can help you, or even have you along to try a session or two so you can experience what I offer and meet some of my other clients and ask them what they like about training with me!
So there you go there's three ways to get involved and we can make this a little bit of an interactive blog instead of just a one sided thing:
So if you thought you had a good week in capital letters type “YES”
If you need a bit of an encouraging phone call or text message, type “HELP!”
If you're new and you feel like the frog in warm water, I’ll make it easy for you - you don't even have to enter your details or go to another website, just type “NEW” in the comments box below, and I'll contact you, and I’ll look forward to having a chat and helping you get out of the warm water, and making some positive healthy lifestyle choices.
So that's it from me for today, and suddenly it feels like the perfect moment for me - so maybe it's the perfect moment for you to reach out, so get to it… that's all for now and you can find out more about me at chriseves.com.au
